It all started when...

I walked by this place, thinking that I wanted to start a plant-based restaurant in the Twin Cities because I was tired of being the "add on" to every place I visited as a plant-based eater. I wanted a place that served great plant-based food and only plant-based foods - where customer service is a priority, great food a tradition, and a comfortable, cool space for like-minded people to gather and share enjoy a sustainable, environmentally friendly and compassionate meal.

We are awaiting construction permits to begin renovating this space to bring you J. Selby's, a plant-based eatery. Check back for more information and pictures of the construction. The menu will be posted as we get closer to opening!

J. Selby's is something new and wonderful. A collaboration between physician turned restauranteur Matt Clayton and chef Rick Berdahl, J. Selby's serves both familiar favorites and new, exciting dishes all re-imagined and recreated as completely plant-based fare to help us all move toward a sustainable, environmental friendly, compassionate way of enjoying food.

The moment you all met us officially. We made over 2000 mini muffins and gave those out to many happy people. Many meaningful conversations were had, laughter was shared, and menus squealed over in excitement.

We opened our doors on April 17th, 2017! Since then we've discovered that our biggest sellers are the Dirty Secret, the Solo burger, our Buffalo Wings, and all the Soy Clone flavors just to name a few!
